This add-on can replace or work in conjunction with the "New Products" panel displayed on the home page and top-level category pages. The purpose is to offer you, the store administrator, the ability to specify which products are to be shown on these pages. To clarify the diference, the "new Products" panel automaticly displays the latest products added to the store on the home page and to any given top-level catagory. The featured products can be chosen in the admin. You also have the option of displaying just a side information box that would display only one featured item [as you can see on the top right of this page]. If there are more featured products than the maximum allowed to be displayed in the stores administration settings, a random selection will be shown. The information box will not show up if there are no featured products to display.
